Ah. On other boards, “log in with email” usually means exactly that – type in [bordelond@straightdope.com](mailto:bordelond@straightdope.com) and use THAT as a username. No worries … I made it through all the same, and it looks like others are too. ---

I think I like the fact that new posts automatically show on the page as they are posted. I notice that there is a “like button” now…I wonder how long that will stick around. ETA: I see that we can still edit posts…and when I went back to the post I made 10 minutes ago, I didn’t have the option to edit it…but I did have the option to _delete_ it… ---

The “like” buttons are near universal on pretty much all other message boards now. Even old-school ones that pretty much work like the old SDMB. IMHO, like buttons shouldn’t be considered some weird out-of-left field show-stopper. There are much more serious changes going on. ---

Draft-saving is also near-universal on newer message boards … again, ones that work pretty much like the old SDMB. ---
