I'm hoping to buy a used Honda Civic. Advice?

Wow, thanks for the advice everyone, it is greatly appreciated. It has really helped assure me I’m making the right decision with the Civic.

Now, I’ve found 2 potential cars I’d be interested in at 2 dealers. One is an '01 EX with 47K miles, and one is an '02 LX with 37K miles. Very similar prices, I’m thinking of kind of bidding the dealers against each other to see which one comes in with the cheapest price. Any suggestions here. Is it worth it to bump up to the EX for an additional 10K miles and a year older? I know the EX is considered the nicer car, but is it really worth it?

Did either of the vehicles have a Carfax or history report run on them? I would definitely make sure that is done ASAP and see how that turns out before making a final decision.
