I forgot to mention the Brass Door (pub on King St.). Every Friday this summer they’ll have a band called the B.A. Baracus there. They’re a real hoot and they draw a pretty good crowd. They play 80s music and TV show theme songs - and it’s just two guys with guitars, kazoos and a bongo. Good times.
I was JUST coming in to say that!
If you like Attic Books, you might well love the City Lights bookstore on Richmond Street two and a half blocks north of Dundas. Still the best used bookstore I know in Canada, having seen a great many.
Covent Garden Market is nice since the refit.
I would be remiss in not mentioning Angelo’s bakery, which is really everything you could want in a deli/cafe/bakery, especially if you like the European stuff. There is one far north on Adelaide and another out in the hinterlands of Oxford and Wonderland.
I’ve had many good nights at Call the Office (?Promised Land).
CHRW is more alternative than most otehr college rock stations, but I do like it.
Check out the intramural sports leagues on campus.
