I'm losing 10 pounds in April. Anybody else in?

I’m in, I don’t know how I’m gonna do it but I would really like to get back down to 180 and lose 2-3 inches off my waist.

I’m in. Perfect timing too - I broke my ankle in the beginning of February so I haven’t been able to exercise. I’ve lost about 10lbs since then, but not in a good way - mostly lost muscle. But now I just got my cast off, and I can do more exercising (no running for at least a month or two though).

~240lbs, 5’5"

Sure. im hellishly fat. 43" waist, 267 lbs. Goal is to get down to 220 and a 32" waist, but thats probably not going to happen. So my new goal is maybe 240 and a 36" waist. If thats not feasible, then i will go in increments of 5 lbs and/or 1" on my waist (same thing really).

Im going to follow a relatively low fat, high protein, high fiber, low GI diet. Also exercise 4-5x a week, and im going to take about 8-10 different supplements. Legal supplements mind you, but supplements nonetheless.

OK, Weighing in… I’m 14st3 (which is equivalent to 199 of your primitive Earth ‘pounds’) and I’m 6ft tall exactly.

Count me in. I can lose 10 pounds easily. Keeping it off seems to be the problem for me.

Gut - March 30. 210lbs.

Damnit, I’m all in.

I’ve lost close to 10 lbs. over the last year or so, so I don’t know how I’m gonna do it in a month.

But I KNOW I can do this. And I’ll need all your help.

I’m in.

I’ve been wondering if cutting out bread with meals and taking my dog for long walks would let me lose a few pounds. This is the perfect opportunity to see if it works.

166lbs 30th March.

Should we set up e-mail groups of 5 each for further encouragement? Seems this thread is getting awefully large, and people slipping through the cracks is an inevitability.

I’m in. A little friendly motivation is what I needed.

Hello salads for lunch. Goodbye 3 beers after work.

silenus - 215 lbs. - 30 March

I’m in as well… although, I’m aiming for 5 pounds, not ten. (Ten pounds off of my current weight, given my proportions, may be a bit much.)

Now if I can manage to find the time to do some weightlifting and firm my muscles back up as well…

<< Bastet’s Paradox: Every cat is the center of the universe. >>

I’m in.

I’ve been posting in the Weight Loss thread for the past few months, and have lost about 45 pounds since September… but I’ve been dragging my feet lately, and not being vigilant about what I’ve been eating. I’ve been skipping workouts, when I should be going a minimum of 4 times a week.

I like having some kind of challenge, because I’m a competitive bitch at heart, so this is exactly what I need.

I’ll weigh myself first thing on Thursday morning.

What about a web page?

I’d set it up myself, but I’m going to be too busy walking the dog…

Hell, I’ll give it a go.
A girlfriend and I actually plan to start our 2 x’s a week walk today!
I know it’s not much, but we be some big girls. Gotta start somewhere, right?
It almost rained us out, but now it’s nice and shiny and we will be a-walkin’ when I get off work!

Harmless - 0 lbs. lost, 10 lbs. to go on March 30th

I’ll play, too. Like JavaMaven, I’ve been over in the SDMB Weight Loss thread, and I’ve hit a plateau. I haven’t lost any weight at all in several weeks.

I’ve been doing Atkins for nearly a year, and I’ve lost about 60 pounds. I started at about 250-something, and on Saturday I was 188. I haven’t weighed myself since then. I’ll weigh in tomorrow morning.

As I said in the other thread, I’m doing a rather hard-core version of Atkins right now (since Sunday); almost no carbs at all, mostly all protein, limited fat, one small salad every day, and tons of water. I need to kick-start myself back into ketosis and start losing again. I just bought some of those Keto-Sticks today, and they turned dark purple, so I should be burning fat.

i’d be happy to be slim enough to slip through the cracks.

I’ve had salad and steamed asparagus for lunch today, and I’m planning to walk down to the grocery instead of drive, later on.

Hmm, I’ll join in too. My goal is to lose 4 or 5 percent more of my body fat. This may result in actual loss of weight, but what I really need is an improvement in my blood lipids and hopefully a reduction in generic jiggles. I will eat a little more protein, be very careful what fats I ingest, and spend more time running and playing DDR. I will also pump iron in moderate amounts 2 or 3 times a week.

Let’s try this first. If you want to play along at home, just copy and paste this adding your own. As you update with weekly weigh-ins, copy and paste with your own info. Get it? If you didn’t enter an inital weight, just put in how much you lost (-3) . Or gained  And I’m in a hurry right now so if somebody wants to fix the spacing, that would be groovy. And check behind me, I didn’t mean to leave anybody out!

I’m in. My weight has stayed constant for the past several years, but I have a spare tire now and I didn’t used to. I just finished a 3 mile walk and I intend to joing a gym once I’m moved in to my new place.

My weight loss plan, aside from more exercise, is to stop eating once I’m full, rather than waiting until I’m in too much pain to stuff any more food in.

Sengkelat: March 30, 5’10", 172#

I’ve been posting in Weight Loss Club #4, but I’ll do it here too. BTW, Wesley Clark, your “grossly fat” is very near my goal weight. Keep in mind these things are relative.

I’ve been doing Atkins since 01/07 (07/01 for our friend Mangetout), and I’ve lost 46 pounds, so 10 in April shouldn’t be too difficult. I was 411  when I started, and I’ve dropped to 365 now. If I keep up my current rate of loss, April 30th projections indicate I’ll be at 349.

So, here you go: Bambi Hassenpfeffer, male, 5’10" @ 365 on 03/30.

I’m definately in! I’ve been wanting to lose some weight but can’t get motivated.
