This is just like my recipe except I think it should be 2 cups Bisquick rather than 3?
I can’t imagine 3 cups for 1 lb of sausage.
I will try a couple shots of hot sauce next time though.
20 minutes is about perfect 1 inch balls.
My recipe originally said to cook for 25 to 30 minutes and I overcooked a batch one time :smack: not good.
I guess it all depends on the size of your balls
I use Jimmy Dean’s hot sausage (I’ve never seen Neese’s around these parts)
These are a tasty little treat that seem to disappear as like magic.
Looks like an awesome recipe. I’ve made these lots of times with regular old sauage (the kind in a plastic tube) and regular old chedder and those are awesome. I can only imagine how good they would be with the extra spiciness (nobody in my family likes the spicy or the extra sharp cheese, sigh). Although it sounds like you are making tiny balls - I use almost the exact same recipe and only get like 3 dozen.
The only down side is that there is no way to stop myself from eating them all.
Be sure to check the sausage for fillers. It shouldn’t be an issue with any of the major brands but with gluten-free you have to check for filler/binders that might have a wheat origin.
I definitely use 3 cups of Bisquick. They are a little lighter in texture, and makes more per batch. It takes a fair amount of smooshing to work it all in, but it will take it all, trust me.
