Frankly, till you called me on this I had NO idea that this was a derogatory term to a certain class of people (although I do know that most people don’t like being labelled as a spaz). I swear, the day will come when all we are allowed to do is blink at one another because verbal language will have been co-opted by so many groups we won’t be able to open our mouths without offending someone.
That said I believe definition 2 (Any sudden burst of energy, activity, or emotion) posted by Punoqllads (thanks for that) fits nicely so I will stick with my very correct and appropriate use of spaz for what my cat does. Believe me, if you saw her go off you’d be hard pressed to describe it another way.
