And a fine messageboard it seems to be, too! Articulate discussion, quality people, and all that. Anyway, my name’s Rod and I’m a proofreader in San Antonio, Texas. Things I enjoy include reading, drawing cartoons, watching “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, and listening to that crazy “rock and roll” music all the kids are talking about these days. I look forward to the Straight Dope messageboard being a fine source of goof-off entertainment for months to come. Rod ---

A new guy comes in that is friendly, knows how to punctuate properly, enjoys intelligent conversation and wishes to observe for awhile so he’ll get a feel for convention. Are we like drawing close to Mars or something? ---

Welcome to our sandbox! By and large, this is a great place to pass an idle hour (or month) and so far, there is no evidence that it causes tooth decay. Near as I can figure, the worst side effect is sinus irrigation with assorted beverages, if you’re not careful. ---

gREAT, we have been needed a poofreader on this bored for some tim now. You cann strt by cleaaning out mistake in Genral Qustion and than we can move on from they’re. ---
