You may also want to start a thread introducing yourself in MPSIMS. You’ll get lots of greetings, plenty of wise-ass commentary, and some good advice as well. Coming in here asking for help is a good sign, particularly as we’re here in the business of fighting ignorance (each in our own way).

Anyway, welcome to the asylum! We can be lots of fun, we’re mostly harmless, and I expect you’ll learn a thing or two to boot. Enjoy.

I suggest lurking a lot to get the feel of the board. As for etiquette – that’s simple. Just like in real life. In GQ, you simply ask your question. MPSIMS - that board is more laid back and mostly for fun --silly (or not) surveys, truly mundane stuff that, for some strange reason, you may feel compelled to share with others, or questions that just seem way too weird or mundane for GQ. My only warning - watch out for the pit. It can get really wicked in there! If you annoy the wrong person, you’ll get flamed.
