You tell me Einstein - how is harassing swarthy males on the Tube going to stop terrorists killing? Will it stop them blowing themselves up while being searched? will it stop them going somewhere else and blowing themselves up? Or are you going to search every swarthy male catching a bus or buying a McDonalds? How is shooting innocent people going to help?
In a nutshell, rather than seancing with my dead relatives how about telling us how devoting scarce resources to doing something that won’t catch one terrorist or save one person’s life actually helps.
Tell me how thousands of police flooding the Tube watching out for unsuitably attired swarthy males actually helps compared to having them do, I dunno, good old fashioned policework maybe.
Come on - you’ve got all the answers it seems, clue me in.

Just out of interest, what kind of “old-fashioned police work” do you think should be undertaken? And what makes you think it is not? [in addition to accepting your enemy will probably be of a certain profile]

If you’re going to infringe on a minority group’s rights and profile for a potential (as opposed to an established) criminal, it’s up to YOU to demonstrate the success of such a program. Otherwise there’s very little difference from grabing every Nordic Blonde by the yabbos in a search for stolen property based on the knowledge that a number of Nordic Blondes have stashed stolen property in their yabbos in the past.
I ain’t a cop, but your question brought to mind a photo w/ caption I saw in SPY magazine about a million years ago (OK, it was in 1993, back when I myself was a spy…really!). Anyway, the photo was of a Sri Lankan police officer holding a human head by the hair and placing it in the back of his patrol vehicle. The caption read: “Sri Lanken police aprehend a prime suspect in last month’s bombing” So my guess about police work: It should be something more pro active than what was going on in Sri Lanka in 1993 and a little LESS pro active than what is going on in London today.

OK. With regard to the subject at hand. When the police were trawling through CCTV footage of train passengers that boarded trains prior to the second wave of London attacks [the non-fatal one] I dare say they employed a little profiling of their own – even if was just to eliminate the little old ladies.
The fact that they quickly came up with photos of the prime suspects and speedily caught them, thus preventing them from trying again, is a very real success, thus proving tagos is ranting out of his arse.
[If you’re going to try and worm out of this one with the potential/established criminal part of your statement, I would suggest that since no witnesses came forward with descriptions [as far as I know], all train passengers in the specific time frame were potential rather than the established criminals]
