Finally, after 42 years, I’ve held Satan’s hand and partook of The Forbidden Weed. Several different occasions, using what my guide referred to as “kind bud.” Don’t much care for it. Makes me feel more drunk than I like to get, I can feel entire departments in my brain shut down which only stresses me out, and it makes me hallucinate (TV goes all 3-D and my vision works at about 1 frame/second). About the only good thing is I get a profound appreciation for red and green. I’m not seeing what all the fuss is about. Sorry–mundane & pointless. ---

If it were legal I would probably try it. If I were of a different crowd I still \*might \*try it. I just don’t know where to get any. ---

When is your next visit to the Netherlands scheduled for—That would take care of both issues quite nicely… (and YES, for all the nitpickers out there, I do realise that it is actually somewhat of a grey legal issue over there, but for all intents and purposes, it IS legal, even if only tech. decriminalized) ---

I tried it in college, and didn’t care for it either. Honestly, though, I’ve never actually tried a recreational drug that I’ve liked, and haven’t been drunk in a couple of decades because I hate it so much. (I do drink for the taste, however.) I didn’t even like the powerful painkillers I got when I had bad burns, other then the lack of pain part. I’m kind of a control freak about odd things, so the loss of control is part of it, but mostly it’s because I get dizzy and nauseous and wired, and that buzzy feeling? Ugh. Hate. ---

I wouldn’t say I’m a \*pot head \*either, but I like it about once a month or so. I enjoy the feeling. I do not get the people who do it daily. Either it doesn’t do to them what it does to me, or they’re better at being productive while stoned. Me, I get nothing done if I’m smoking pot. ---

However, I have ADD, and certain drugs work… differently… on me. I miss it. I was a serious pot head in college (and my grades showed it!) but had to give it up when I entered teaching. Grass always made things…mellow. ---

Would you be able to indulge if California legalizes it? I’m pretty sure some people won’t be…commercial drivers, pilots, emergency people are probably still going to be subject to testing… ---

Pot did nothing for me when I was younger and smoking it illegally with my friends. Pot did nothing for me when I went to Amsterdam and tried it, in fact it was possibly my worst experience ever 🙂 ---

It’s not that great… I’ve done it three times, the first time to get laid, the other two times cuz i told people i didnt like it the first-second time and they were like try one more time. I’m not trying it anymore, its not for me. ---

To this point it just wasn’t worth risking my credentialing over. But if I can pop down to the local cannibatorium and pick up a quarter of Laotian Red, then who knows? Never done it. Never will. I had Percocet after a hernia surgery and after the first day I decided I’d rather use Ibuprofen on the pain. Much like **Risha** , I like being in control of my faculties. ---

You think smoking dope in Amsterdam was bad? It’s a good job you didn’t score drugs in Albuquerque in the mid 80’s. I don’t know what the pot was cut with, but after the hallucinations and paranoia wore off I swore that Prozac and Phenargan would be the strongest things I ever took afterwards. ---

Goddamn I love weed. I know what the OP means by the TV going 3D. Back when I was younger I used to smoke a bunch of strong dope and I would have mild hallucinations as well. Everything would look out of proportion. Like my room would look really small and my TV would look really big. Awesome stuff. It doesn’t do that to me now no matter how much I smoke.
