# I'm not getting married!

With the proliferation of Dopers announcing their intention to enter into the institution of matrimony, I feel it necessary to point out that I am not getting married. Nor am I seeing anyone. In fact, I’m wallowing in my aloneness.

I’d ask you to marry me, but… well, you know.
I don’t exactly wallow in loneliness, so much as crave solitude. (Of course one can take that too far. I’m doing a pretty good job of being a hermit in a dense part of London)

I’m actually a bit sad that I’m not getting married. Around here, I’m well over the mean age, which makes it much harder to find someone.
And, yes, I’m only 25.

I am permanently out of the marriage game from now on. I tried that for a long time and it didn’t work out worth a damn except for my kids. I am a committed bachelor for life and already told my family never to inquire about that subject again. There won’t be any more kids either. One I made that commitment, it was quite a liberating feeling. Maybe I should have a ceremony to pledge my commitment to just me before friends and family.

Not getting married, not having a baby, and not getting a damned job either!~
Nor am I vacationing, don’t have cute pet pics, don’t have a graduate in the family, and I am not currently losing weight or considering weight loss surgery.

That’s ok, you’re still welcome. The “no puppies or kittens” thing is kind of a hijack as I have a dog and he’s amazingly handsome. But he does not figure into my non-marriage plans.
