1 - Though this has more merit of a pitting than the magazine debate down the hall, it’s still pretty damn trivial. 2 - Mademoiselle doesn’t have to do a damn thing she doesn’t want to. It’s not even discourteous. Asking incumbent sitters to move is discourteous. Cursing them out is discourteous. 3 - Keep previous moans and groans out of this. You’re clearly upset that people have teased you for your grammar. I know people have crawled up my butt (figuratively) for me not capitalizing properly. Just shrug it off. Harping on it makes you seem petty. ---

Harping on it makes you seem petty. I understand proper grammar now and try to be careful when I’m on my phone. Now I actually use proper grammar and spelling. I was just surprised that she was told numerous times the same thing and yet she kept on making the same mistake. But I agree that this is not really the point of the pitting. ---

You people would probably go insane with rage in Asia. I’ve literally had to hip check 60 year old women so that my 80 year old grandmother can get to a seat on the bus/metro. Movie? Forget about it. You think American theaters are loud and crass… It’s no wonder piracy is such a big deal there. Watch it at home. Going in public is like going to war. ---

Note in general- Stop the name-calling in this topic. The next person who namecalls or even implies namecalling of the OP will be getting a warning. Most of you have been here long enough by now to know to go to the Pit if you want to fully express your outrage, this topic isn’t it, however outraged at the OP you may be. Furthermore, some of you need to dial back the anger in this thread towards each other. Again, take it to the Pit if you want to blast each other, but stop it here. ---

The movie theater we go to has assigned seating. But I have occasionally strategically reserved seats that left a buffer zone of single seats on either side. On a few occasions, a couple bought the buffer seats, then once in the theater asked if we would scootch. It would never even occur to me to deny such a request, even if they came in half way through.
