Areas where theaters are routinely crowded are going to have slightly different customs than ones where theaters are almost never packed. I’ve been thinking the same thing. I’ve never been asked to move. And I always get there early to get what at least I consider good seats. ---

At some point in this thread, she said that it was almost 3 hours. So that narrows it down to: Les Miserables Django Unchained Lincoln Zero Dark Thirty The Hobbit Based on the description of the people she got into a fight with (though vague, we can go by their manners at least), I’d say that Lincoln can be eliminated from contention. Also Les Mis. ZDT seems like an action movie from the trailers, so that’s a possibility. Also, The Hobbit and Django have broad appeal. She never mentioned 3D glasses\*, which might have come up in the discussion, so I’m going to eliminate The Hobbit. That leaves Zero Dark Thirty and Django Unchained. She’s mixed race, so boom - Django. How does my math look? \*She may have left out mention of it being 3D as that would make the five empty rows even more undesirable and would hurt her argument a bit, I think. For now, we’ll assume she would have told us if there was 3D involved as I wouldn’t want to accuse her of omitting details that hurt her position. ---

FYI, this is why I don’t believe the couple actually came in during the movie itself, since the OP describes multiple lengthy exchanges between herself and the couple that I wouldn’t imagine a considerate person would have while other people are trying to watch a movie. Maybe during the previews. Or maybe the OP feels it’s OK to have conversations in the theater during a movie as long as someone else initiates them? ---
