Some Baptists came around and gave me a baby snow leopard on condition I pet it and hug it and keep it in my bed. It’s as if they think I’m demented. Okay, for it to be my second childhood I’d have to have left my first, but after verifying it’s real my first thought was that it was while working on Ty Warner’s home theater I encountered using a “buck” to mean a million dollars, as in “These speakers in their normal finish will total a buck and a quarter.” “I’m building them into the wall. They don’t need to be pretty.” “Oh, then that’s just seven fifty.” Half a million just for veneer on high density fiberboard. And the same $30 drivers everybody uses. I loved that racket. And I have a grand nephew who will like the Beanie. ---

There were only two because I just woke up; I counted ten once. The other was: What? Who are these people? Be nice. A stuffed animal? (First branch) Baptists do Christmas presents? Maybe it’s for St Nicholas’ feast day a couple days late. I know enough about Baptists to know it’s not for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, today. Why do I still have the liturgical calendar stuck in my head, ready for easy access? Be nice. Where’s my tract? Not even a lousy Jack Chick? Where am I supposed to send a thank you note? But that would get me on their mailing list. Be nice, but not too nice. Mirror what they say. Merry Christmas! Whew, that coulda been more uncomfortable if I’d been paying attention. That was their last Beanie? Should I give it back so they can give it to someone more senile than I? Oh, they’re gone. They didn’t even pray with me. Very strange. ---

It was $150M just for the lot on the water at Malibu. What I loved about Abilify was how the chaos in the railyard was brought down to a manageable two or even one train of thought. I could aim at a target and hit it without a bunch of distractions and sidetracks. Life in my head is more crippling than magical. ☹ ---
