I walk on escalators because I am in a god damned hurry. Riding up the escalator is about as slow as just walking up the stairs. Walking up the escalator, however, gets you there _faster_. Who doesn’t want to get there faster? I’m not on the damn thing for the scenery. ---

I am so glad nobody cares about what the Labor Department has to say, and for the most part, people at train stations (especially at rush hour) actually walk, with the standers to the right. Seriously, we’d see another Chicago fire if everyone stood still on the escalators downtown. Shit would get real. ---

On the other hand, us oldies frequently get to have a good wheeze over watching some young’un try to use obsolete technology, like the IBM Selectric we have to keep at the office since some organizations still insist on using forms that can only be completed manually (universities and other higher-learning institutions, I’m talking about you).
