But I bet you are not trying to remember living in that place on 9th, about a half a block from Veasy, where your roommate was a dealer. Good times. Best to not remember that.

Whatever it is you’re not trying to remember, I’d suggest that getting good and drunk will not help you remember it. To continue not remembering indefinitely, you should stay drunk.

Yes, but he specifically said in the OP title, “_ **I’m not trying to remember** _…” which is a rather different thing from “_I’m trying not to remember_…” Alcohol is helpful with the latter, but kind of superfluous with the former.
