David Attenborough is coming to Australia to present a performance, to qoute:

> _Sir David Attenborough - A Life on Earth_ will take audiences on an incredible journey through Sir David’s extraordinary life, his untold stories, the evolution of filming techniques and his passion for bringing us closer to nature. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to share Sir David’s experiences with the great man himself, in person.

But I’m squeeing right now. David Attenborough is my boyhood idol. I’ve adored him ever since I first saw Life on Earth. The opening strains of the [theme music](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDdaStk5SEM) to Life on Earth still send a shiver down my spine whenever I hear it. Sir David is without fail my #1 answer on any variation of the ‘who would you invite to dinner’ question.

I don’t know if Sir David has the same impact and is as well known in the US as he is here (and in Britain) [I believe they dubbed over him in the US for his recent _Frozen Planet_ series?] . But if I hear his voice coming from the TV, I always stop to watch whatever it is he’s presenting, even if just for a while.

Yes, I know I won’t get to meet him one on one, but a boy can daydream can’t he? 😛

Dammit. We’re going to be in Brisbane in July, but not August. So close, and yet so far!

Have fun.
