I get called boss by two guys: the guy who works at the gas station (a middle-eastern immigrant) and a guy who I carpool with, from Egypt. ---

_NCIS_ is a really popular show. I now call my boss “boss.” Fortunately, she does not Gibbs-slap me. I also have a patron I call “chief.” He is the Chief of Police. ---

I was dropping off a car at the service department of a dealership this morning, and I heard one of the service advisers calling his customer “boss”! I thought of this thread, of course (the guy using the term was mid-20s, no more hispanic than average around here, and had a wanna-be car salesman vibe to him). ---
