I think it’s curious that there have been several ‘they won’t get my references’ posts. How important is that, really? Anyone here have a wonderful, age-appropriate partner who doesn’t (or didn’t, initially) get your references? I know that I have said, or referenced, plenty of things that my wife who is 6 years younger than me didn’t get. Vice-versa. She grew up interested in different stuff than I did…one of the things I love about us is that we ‘trade’ those things. I wouldn’t swap my wife for a car. Even a really nice one. But if she decided to leave me for a guy with a nice car (won’t happen) I don’t see myself using the trusty formula. I think that yeah, it’s fun to have a lot of stuff in common with someone…but how it feels to be together trumps that. So if someone my age feels happy dating someone who is (age/2), I don’t care. Ditto older. Know yourself, and be happy. ---

I’m 28 and I notice women in their 40’ies all the time. They don’t seem to notice me that often, though. Lowest for me would be 20, very much dependent on the maturity of the girl.
