Last night, the final piece of the puzzle arrived at Chez Robin. I got my new computer! RobinMom and RobinDad gave it to me as a Declaration of Independence gift. It’s great to finally be able to post and chat without people looking into my cubicle, wondering what the hell I’m snickering at. I’m doing well otherwise. My contract just got bought out and I find out tomorrow when I start work as a permanent employee. It’s an excellent job with a higher-than-area-average salary and benefits and perks to die for, and I’m really doing well to be able to work there. So, just thought I’d tell y’all I’m back! 🙂 Robin ---

Since I was inducted into the Navy from here, I’ve got access to a lot of good vet’s benefits that don’t exist in Minnesota. I actually got homesick for MN this past week, when I realized I was missing the State Fair. I’m also losing my Minnesota accent. 🙂 Robin ---

I’m a poor college student again. I also realize that I’m going to have to break down and buy a computer of my very own. So, for now, I’ll just say ‘welcome back, MsRobyn,’ and be looking for me at a message board in your neighborhood soon. ---

**Rysdad** , in [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=85337), I suggest to the Minnesota Dopers that we collect poptops towards the effort. It’s good to hear from you, and glad you’re back in school. Where are you going, and what are you studying? Robin ---
