Well, you can equip one character with the Master Summon materia, but that’s late in the game and takes a lot of time doing various pointless tasks, battles, and minigames (such as breeding a golden chocobo and racing them.) Actually, that’s the easiest way I know of to beat Sephiroth. You don’t even need the Master Summon. Just KotR, a W-Summon, and a couple Mimes (or Copy or Mimic or whatever the materia is). W-Summon KotR and have the next two characters copy it for six KotR attacks in a row. While this is going on, go make a sandwich, cause it’s gonna take awhile. Take a round off to use a Megalixir, then repeat. Get a soda or some chips or something to go with the sandwich, and prepare to eat your snack while watching the ending movie. ---

Heh. I was so paranoid about the end fight that I jacked all of my levels up as high as I could get them. When I got to the very end, it only took one Knights of the Round to take down Sephiroth. :eek: It was kind of a let down, but I only have myself to blame. ---

Yeah, one KotR will take out first-stage Sephiroth. It takes somewhere between six and twelve to take out second-stage. Heck, it can be done so quickly that Sephy never does Supernova. ---

I played through the first time w/o KoTR. It’s really only a necessity of you want to beat Ultima Weapon. Have any of you ever fought the final battle with Sephiroth without using Cloud’s limit breaks? ---

I had a friend with every FAQ, strategy guide, near maxed-out characters, and way more copies of every materia you could master. We followed the insturctions on every one of those exactly, and we still never beat that beeee-ach. ---

I didn’t tell him to use it, so they stood there staring at eachother for a while. Then Sephiroth attacks Cloud, and Cloud counters with a normal hit. If you’re following all the tricks and not hitting him when he’s defensive, I think alot of it is luck. He’s going to eat at least one character, probably two. You just have to hope whoever’s got KotR ( or Mime if KotR has already been cast) is the lucky one. ---

I have a question now. My hint book for the FF VIII (I alwyas buy the hint books for the secrets) says something like “You can buy GP at the Gold Saucer in the little hut behind the tramway station. Sometimes there will be a little man there that will exchange GP for gil.” Well, I have played this game a LOT and there has never been any little man in that hut, and it makes me C-R-A-Z-Y. WTH? Is it because it’s the American version, or am I truly so unfortunate not to see the man? What gives? ---

I never use KotR against anyone but the Weapons, myself. One of my funniest deaths came against Sephiroth: I forgot that Supernova causes status aliments, and I forgot to put a Ribbon on Cloud. He gets confused and kills Yuffie. Sephiroth casts Break on Red XIII and kills him. Then Cloud, overcome by grief over failing you-know-who, stabs himself and dies. Oops. 🙂 ---

Nah, they suck IMHO. They’re actually the other minigames found in FF7, and I didn’t like them much. ---

Or you could just kill off the two characters that aren’t set up to kill Ruby, as it only uses Whirlsand when the attack won’t end the game. Incidentally, this trick also works for X’s Shinryu and its pesky Eraser attack. And I quite like V, even though the plot sucks and the only people with any sort of personality get killed. And I like Faris because he’s\* a leather-clad pirate with a katana, and those are always cool. **Scumpup** , Omnislash and the Final Attack and W-Summon materia are found at the Gold Saucer. They’re nice to have but possibly more trouble than they’re worth. \*Yes, I know. And I’m pretty sure his crew know as well, which makes me wonder about the validity of what he said in the Ship Graveyard. Sometimes I think the only reason I call him a he is so I can do the same to Kuja. ---
