Somewhat related to the OP hijack:

My wife is a Bahamian citizen who has been a permanent resident for the last 25 years. We’ve just had our 4th anniversary, so I was wondering what the statutes were as far as her becoming a citizen. Looking at the links above I only really found stuff applicable to green card holders, and seeing as how she has a driver’s license and SS number I’m curious to find out whether or not the hoops we’d have to jump through are in any way reduced.

Permanent resident = green card holder.

She’s been eligible for citizenship for a long time.
