If you really want to see a car vs. fighter plane battle that’s both patently unrealistic and fun to watch, there was a great short film a few years back called _Prey Alone_. At 1/8 the length and 1/5000th the budget (no joke), it might actually be better than _Live Free or Die Hard_. Watchable at [Atom Films](http://www.atomfilms.com/film/prey_alone.jsp). ---

I just saw Live Free or Die Hard last night. Yippie Ki Yay was it awesome! Definitely no more or less realistic than any of the other three. It was fun, there were plenty of explosions and Bruce Willis actually looks like he enjoys playing McClane, so that’s a plus. My wife and I also had a brilliant idea for a crossover movie as we were leaving the theater. Bauer vs McClane Whoever wins, the terrorists lose. Now off to Target to buy the trilogy box set. ---

I was tied up and didn’t get around to watching it till today and it was a fun ride, but not great. Of the four in the franchise, I rank it @3 with the second movie in the last place. Some of the stunts were too over the top and it lacked some humor. All in all, it was better than I’d expect. The pros: Willis looked good and fit. It doesn’t matter that not even a top athlete in his prime could take a tenth of the abuse McClane took, the whole thing is too improbably, and with my suspension of disbelief firmly in place, I think he pulled it off in spite of his age. I like parkour stunts and they were used just enough. I have a feeling we’re going the be oversaturated with parkour in the next few years, but it’s still fresh to me. The hacker kid wasn’t nearly as annoying as I though he would be. The cons: OTOH, Kevin Smith’s character was. The plot was really thin. The daughter’s 180 was less than believable. ---

If Bruce Willis had called Kevin Smith “Lunchbox” instead of “Dumptruck,” I would have shit my pants right in the movie theater. That, and the “motherfucker” were the only things missing from this movie. “Oh, your girlfriend? Asian bitch? Likes to kick people?” But the funniest line of all [spoiler]was the Mac’s throwaway at the gas center. He’s messing with the Bad Guy, throwing all kinds of spam at him, and mutters under his breath, “aaaaaand, your girlfriend’s dead, gonna want some adult dating services…”[/spoiler] Or something to that effect. I was rolling. ---

I can’t believe that I have not seen a single trailer or ad for this film! I have gone to the movie theater three times this month and saw nothing about it - if it weren’t for this thread I wouldn’t even know the film was out! Sometimes I am so far out of the loop I don’t even know there is a loop.
