# I'm quitting pot for my girlfriend, does that make me whipped?

Nope, not whipped. Making compromises is part of a healthy relationship. It’s only really being whipped if you’re feeling sulky or resentful about the decision and then making it anyway.

For me, I’ve stopped dating a couple of different guys because they were occasional users. I can’t be around it or people who are around it.

I don’t think you are whipped. I am interested to know whether she knew that you smoked ocassionally when you all first started dating? Did she mention anything back then?

I don’t think it makes you whipped and most people eventually give up pot anyway.

Think of it this way, you’ll save some money.  
You will no longer be violating a silly law.  
It is easy to quit.  
Most people really can quit and then take a few tokes a few years later with no ill effects accept you get high quicker. (Not that I would know such a thing) 😉
