I’m going to have to seriously curb my social media time. Yesterday, less than 24 hours after Biden withdrew and backed Harris, I was receiving lots of pro and anti Harris posts as twitter/instagram desperately tried to figure out where I stood on the issue so they could target me. Where I stand is Fuck That. ---

A very sweet doctor who works in our department just came to ask me why he couldn’t submit his expense report that he did all by himself. My stomach clenched. This is analogous to, “Mommy, come see, I made poo!” and then you go in and see they’ve fingerpainted the walls with their own shit. Dr. Sweetheart has no idea how to follow the rules, what documentation is required, what funds to use, nothing. It’s literally my job to do this for him, but he didn’t ask me to, just went in and _wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!_ It will require much time to unfuck this. 😭 ---

I was driving on the expressway with my windows down, and some idiot threw thier cigarette out the window and came in my window and landed on some papers in the backseat of my car and started smouldering. Ihad to get over in heavy traffic and get that out of my car before my whole car went up. I was fortunate i saw it before my car was engulfed in flames. ---

My wife informed me today that she was notified that my brother was let out of prison. I have to let my mom know. I have the best family. ---

I have to pit myself. I know better than to engage with crazy people. I really do. And I tell myself this on a near daily basis. But today I did it, and now I regret it. Because it never goes well and I have to deal with these people regularly. Today it was the FBI was behind the January 6 insurrection. And if you don’t believe that you know the FBI was there and they could have stopped it but didn’t. I should have just laughed and he would have gone away, but I slipped up and pointed out the idiocy of this theory. I hope I don’t need anything work related from this guy anytime soon. ---

As part of the planning for my upcoming trip, this morning I decided to check on my options for getting around Glasgow on public transit. Apparently, Glasgow has multiple bus companies, each with its own routes and fare payment system. So I need to figure out which one goes where I’m likely to want to go and how to pay fares on them. It looks like this may involve loading multiple apps on my phone. Also, it looks like the only public transit out of Glasgow Airport is FirstBus, but their website doesn’t seem to have any info on their other bus routes through the city. (Fortunately, getting around Reykjavik looks like it’s going to be much easier. I’ve purchased a 3 day pass which not only covers bus fares but also gets me some discounts at various places.) ---

Are you staying at a hotel? Contact them for transportation options if so. They can be really helpful in that regard, especially if you are there for a special event that a lot of people will be wanting transportation for. ---

And I want to get out of my car, go pick it up and hand it back to them and say “Here, you dropped this.” But I never do because I’m afraid the light will change while I’m doing it. (And also because I don’t want to touch something that’s been in their mouth.)
