I’m supposed to be balancing my checkbook, paying bills, debugging some ugly programming nightmare from work, putting together as-built documentation and Operating and Maintenance manuals for said work, and probably some other stuff I’ve conveniently mis-remembered. (oh yeah, I need to iron some shirts. :rolleyes: ) Instead, I’m reading about JarbabyJ’s drawn out attempt to become another Memorial Day statistic (hope you heal faster than I did), finding out the RL names of other board members, learning that Biggirl is one helluva swell person, etc. I can’t be the only one who has discovered what a fine work-avoidance device the sdmb is, so what the heck are you not doing here? ---

Well, I’m MEANT to be preparing dinner (pastitso…sort of a greek lasagne) and it’s 3.00 pm and I’m meant to be leaving for work in an hour and I don’t trust my kids to be able to make the cream sauce, and I haven’t even started cooking the pasta yet, and… here I sit at this bloody monitor reading the bloody SDMB. Oh, and I COULD be writing one of three essays that are due in the next 10 days. Or hanging out the pile of washing in the laundry. but I’m not. ---

I should be making capsules for our drug studies. Or organizing this mess of an office. Or calling back the research assistant to tell her I got her medication request. I should be out living life.
