I was in search of something to do at three thirty this morning, so I asked my friend Diego if he had any good games I could borrow. Dopers, I have discovered **Carmageddon.** It’s horrible. You can run down pedestrians and cows. They make squishy noises. The entire point is to squish people and pummel the cars of your fellow racers into oblivion. I adore this game. Maybe it’s just because I’m going home in a few hours and I won’t see Dartmouth until next year. Maybe it’s working off the post-final stress. Whatever the cause, there is nothing more wonderful at this moment than chasing down a cow and giggling madly whilst the blood splatters. I am profoundly disturbed. I’m going to play some more. \ ---

Carmageddon is VASTLY superior to newer Carmageddon 2. The graphics and physics engine are dated in the original, but I prefer the AI, damage modeling, terrain, mapping, and game progression alot more than in the second one. Carma is one of the funnest brain-dead games I’ve EVER owned. –Tim ---

I haven’t played _Carmageddon_, but if you like splattering blood or sick humour, try _Blood_ and _Redneck Rampage_. These are both older games, so they might be hard to find; but if you do find them they’ll probably be cheap. ---

\ I _love_ that game! Especially the little voice deep down telling you that it’s wrong to play it, and the game’s ability to make you completely ignore it. Now, **Homer** , don’t be too hard on the sequal. It has some nice touches, like being able to flip pedestrians over your hood, drag them in front of your car while they slowly fall apart, and splitting your car in half if you hit a pole while going to fast. But, admittedly, the first one is better. After all, you get to drive into a football stadium and chase the players around! God, I feel so dirty having said that. **Coldfire** , I think that your support group idea should be put into effect as soon as possible. We can spend the meeting sharing tips, and, of course, playing _Carmageddon_. 😃 ---

I prefer Carmageddon 2 to 1, just to be different. But DON’T get Carmageddon 3. It just doesn’t look very good, and the feel just isn’t the same. Hard to say exactly why, but if you shell out $35 for it you’ll learn the hard way, so take my word for it. Also, the performance on many video cards sucks ass. ---

Haven’t tried Carmageddon, but I finished the original Grand Theft Auto. It’s a bird’s eye view and probably appeals more to those of us who had Hot Wheels collections. Gotta love the fire truck, the police car, the flamethrower, outrunning the cops, and mowing down the hare krishnas… I also feel kinda guilty about Rainbow Six and Delta Force even though they are terrorists. But I get over that too. And let’s not forget intentionally crashing your fully loaded roller coasters in Rollercoaster Tycoon, barricading your Sims in a box so they die of starvation or in a pool so they drown, and killing everyone in a town (even the dogs and children) in Fallout. But I’m a really nice guy, really! ---

I loved Carma 1, only played the demo of Carma 2, and nearly threw Carma 3 out the window! I don’t want missions, I want squishins’! Then I looked up the cheat code to turn off the timer and enjoyed it more. ---

Loved Carmageddon, did it have multiplayer? I also like NFSIII Hot Pursuit over a LAN. You can download player made vehicles like Imperial Speeder bikes, and even Titanic. The bikes are the best, almost instant acceleration and can turn on a dime. The ship is very slow to start but then just smashes thru cars in its path. ---
