TubaDiver (in place of TubaDiva) is a constant misreading on my part. (Who the heck jumps into a tuba!?) Then there’s Lynn Bodini (granddaughter of The Great Bodini!) instead of Bodoni (as in the typeface). I get ‘mariah’ a lot. Accompanied by the assumption I’m female. ---

There have been a few occassions when I wanted to refer to a poster after Quoting and have run in to the need to use pronouns. Sometimes I end up searching randomly through that person’s prior post hoping they’ll refer to their sex so I’ll know whether to write “he” or “she”. I wasn’t even gonna _try_ to pronounce that one. 🙂 Like when I read Chekhov as un undergrad: I worked out pronunciations of most of the names (which were undoubtably wrong, but allowed me to read the stories without stumbling on the names every single time), but some of them just looked too complicated so I trained myself to “skip” them. I’ve finally figured out that the best way for me to handle **Bosda Di’Chi of Tricor** is to simply think of him/her as “Bosda.” ---
