Maybe this is all some sort of false flag operation where he makes climate change deniers look like brain-damaged gibbons, all the while posting links to sites which support the global warming theory. It’s the only way these threads make any sense at all.

Seems to me there is a difference between (1) which temperatures will be used as a baseline in calculating anomalies; and (2) which year will be used as a starting point in assessing temperature trends.
In theory, one could use 1951-1980 as a baseline for calculating overall anomaly but assess the overall trend starting in 1900 or 1920 or 2000 or any other year.

With records for cold being broken all over the US right now, as well as all winter, you might think the “global warming can cause more extreme weather” crowd would be considering looking hard at reality, rather than handwaving away yet another record cold winter.
