Incidentally, in a indication of just how pathetic and desperate he’s getting, he’s had to quote **GIGObuster** from more than a year ago in an effort to provoke some response. I’m quite gratified that no one has dignified this troll with a substantive response for many months. He’s so ignorant, disingenuous, and ludicrous that everyone can see he’s not worth responding to. The only reasonable response at this point is ridicule. ---

Now if you want to promote global warming scare tactics, you should be yammering on with out end about how the latest record COLD in the US is due to global warming. Because weather is climate, and cold weather means it warming. Or warm winters mean it’s warming. Either way, it’s global warming. That’s the important take home message we need to impress on folks. And of course, how it’s actually them to blame, unless it’s actually oil and coal companies to blame, somebody is to blame for the weather. That’s Science! bitches, and don’t you forget it. ---

I’m not sure exactly what the Mastermind’s thesis is (his posts all just show up as 11-word error messages on my machine 😕 ) but I _think_ his argument, before his posts all changed into error messages, is that since 2014 is now on track to be the hottest year out of the last million years, that _disproves_ global warming. I can’t follow the mathematical intricacies of that Hot-is-Cold, Ignorance-is-Strength, Freedom-is-Slavery argument, but I’ll show solidarity with Mastermind by providing anecdotal support for his thesis. **It is F\*CKING HOT where I live**. Mid-November we should be approaching winter, Goddamit! Yesterday, air-conditioning failed and getting the repairman to come out became our highest priority. Without A/C, I’d have to abandon home and stay at hotel. Or drive around aimlessly in our air-conditioned car. Thank God there’s no AGW, or it might be even worse. Or would AGW make it cooler here? 😕 Like I say, I can’t even see Mastermind’s argument let alone understand it. His posts DO show up when someone quotes them, so I skim this thread for the highlights. ---

Most people can understand when they read Trenberth’s email that he wasn’t saying “there is no global warming”, and understand that he was bitching about the unusual (very very fucking unusual, record breaking unusual) cold where he was. He also remarks about the inability to measure what is actually going on. The Ceres data said there should be warming, but the actual data says otherwise. The unusual cold he was bitching about [even shows up in the global data](http://woodfortrees.org/plot/rss-land/from:1987.86/every:12). [Note the current October readings](http://woodfortrees.org/plot/rss-land/from:2004.86/every:12). The Ceres data says we should look like 2005, or 2006. Not like 2013, or 2014, .5 C colder, which in global terms, is a lot fucking colder.
