In a place like Boston where it is often below freezing in February this will mean more snow, and so when Boston is the topic of conversation one might phrase this simply as increased temperatures lead to more snow. In a place like southeast England where, when it snows at all, it’s usually only just barely cold enough to be snow rather than rain, then one might point out that increased precipitation and a marginal increase in temperature might mean _less_ snow (and more rain).

> Do you have a link to UK snowfall over the past 15 years handy?

To my knowledge, such a simple thing simply does not exist on the internet. It certainly does not exist on the MET web site, unless it’s so well hidden even my Google Fu can’t find it.

[Here’s a summary](http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=winter-history;sess=) which is quite helpful in general.

The [snow lying data here](http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/summaries/anomacts) is only from 2011 to present, but even if we had it all, it does not show amounts. The [rainfall and temp anomalies data here](http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/summaries/anomalygraphs) can be cross checked with it, but certainly does not allow for any scientific conclusions, except for one simple fact, and that is when there is a fuckton of snow in England, it is cold. This can also be determined using the [monthly actual temperature data](http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/summaries/actualmonthly), which will also clearly show that snow is directly connected to cold.

Which anyone with an ounce of knowledge about meteorology already knows.

Aside from Antarctica, and Greenland, and high mountains with continual glaciers, snow is always directly connected with cold.

It does not snow more when it is warmer, and anyone telling you this is an idiot. It snows more when it is colder. This is exactly why snow happens most often during the cold parts of the winter, and it **always has to be fucking cold or it will not snow**.

Of course when challenged they will try to pull a fast one, and start trying to talk about “globally”, and increased precipitation “globally”, at which point you will know they don’t know what the fuck they are talking about. If you buy that pernicious bullshit, then poor Viner is really left in the lurch, since clearly he was expressing how with warmer winter temps, snow was vanishing. Which is actually what happens, a warm winter has much less snow. If their is an increase in precipitation, it will be from rain, not snow.

But at this point it gets really complicated, which is exactly why the fucking data should be easy to access, and everybody should be able to simply fucking look at it.

The [Met Office Hadley Centre](http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadukp/) not having the data presented by time series, including seasonal, annual and monthly graphs. It’s not that they don’t have the data, and it’s not like it’s hard to put it up on the web.

Just like the snow data, [they actually have a lot of data](http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/media/pdf/t/l/Snow_Survey_of_Great_Britain__1989-90.pdf), but you wouldn’t fucking know it from their web site.

Like the issue of snow and temperature. Looking at [2010](http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadcet/graphs/HadCET_act_graphEX2010.gif) or [2009](http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadcet/graphs/HadCET_act_graphEX2009.gif) clearly shows that the record snow is directly connected with cold. But good luck finding the snow info on that MET site.

They actually make it hard to just check the facts.

Of course it is. What’s so incredibly funny, in this thread, is how when I type out the exact things stated in multiple peer reviewed published papers, by actual climate experts, it’s viewed by the idiots here as completely wrong. Or, in your case, “they know that if they posted your crap, they would be laughed at”, which is ironic in the extreme.

>
> Even they understand the actual data, so they know that if they posted your crap, they would be laughed at.

No, that’s just something you made up, and you’re obviously ignorant in the extreme. That’s what is so funny about it all.

Global warming theory isn’t just one thing, like any theory it’s a compilation of knowledge that tries to explain, and predict, the natural world using science. It does not just say “more GHGs makes it warmer”, which is the idiots view of things. Same for the belief that “more warmer means more precipitation herp derp”, something the people basking in a warm winter in the US would point out to you as well. The theory, and the models based on it, predict certain kinds of changes. Because physics.

There it is, and that is why I note it’s obvious, based on the data. Something is wrong with the theory, unless there is something really wrong with all our measurements, which is unlikely.

Once more, this does not mean CO2 and other greenhouse gases do not effect the atmosphere. It does not mean they are not greenhouse gases. It does not mean an increase in greenhouse gases will not cause an enhanced greenhouse effect. That isn’t the part of the theory that is wrong.

People seem to think if one part of the theory has been shown to be wrong, that all the other parts are wrong. It does not mean that. But if one part of a theory is wrong, and it certainly is looking that way, then the theory isn’t right. It has to be scrapped, or changed, something. But you can not declare confidence in a theory that is wrong about something.

It doesn’t work that way.

Is Cohen’s theory and his model based on his theory correct? That’s still an open question. If his theory is right, basic global warming theory is wrong. Once more, this does not mean CO2 and other greenhouse gases do not effect the atmosphere. It does not mean they are not greenhouse gases. It does not disprove an enhanced greenhouse effect. That isn’t the part of the theory that is wrong.

And, even if CO2 increases are the cause of colder winters, that just makes it even MORE important to do something about the ever increasing levels. And of course, the issue of changing the pH of the oceans. The last thing I want to see is even more goddamn coal being burned worldwide.

That’s bad warehouse management, as it leads to old materiel being stockpiled for long periods of time, often past expiration date.

I asked you a question back in 2009 that you didn’t answer; you must answer that, first, before I am under any obligation to you.

Also, your “questions” are highly loaded, and you do not accept answers when they are given. And while we’re on the subject, you’re a rotten cook as well.

If he ever really thought that, he’s a fucking idiot. If he simply refuses to answer, he’s an idiot troll. Not worth it. There is no winning when you get sucked into a trolls game. Ever.

Because he might be wrong if he actually answers anything. It’s exactly why people avoid answering questions, as well as the psychological issue of “if I have to answer you then that makes you in charge” and we can’t have that. Fuckheads aren’t interested in actually learning anything, they already know it all.

Of course it does, just as warmer winters means less snow, and more rain, less ice, more rain, which is as basic as science gets. The desperation of somebody trying to sell the public on the idea that warmer winters means more snow is batshit insane.

No, rational people have pointed out that warmers predicted warmer winters, and less snow, which is exactly what global warming theory predicts. The warm winter in Alaska this year has LESS snow, not more. That’s how it works, where it’s cold, it snows. If it’s warm, there is less snow. Why the fuck would anyone try to tell you the opposite?

No, talking about record cold and snow doesn’t obscure any climate researcher in any way. That’s a ridiculous claim.

Except that the NH winters, especially February, show a clear cooling trend, especially in areas that effect large populations of people. That’s why the cold and snow matters so much.

Yes, and the colder NH winters, in very large areas, like China, Siberia, the US, Europe, Scandinavia, even parts of Canada, that’s climate. And that is what people are noticing doesn’t match the IPCC and the constant barrage of scare mongering about warming.

To turn around and try and tell people it’s actually getting warmer, and that’s why it’s so cold, and there is so much sea ice, lake ice, river ice, freezing rain and snow, that is insane behavior. The data shows winters are trending colder, it’s not some perception problem, it’s not people being confused when they see the ocean freezing, harbors full of ice, the great lakes at record ice levels, two years in a row. And the cold winters, with record snow, are also part of a trend. It’s not some unusual thing when it happens 5 out of 6 years.

The problem isn’t “contrarians”, it’s the goddamn cold. And the ice and snow. And the fucking cold.

> Hotter air around the globe causes more moisture to be held in the air than in prior seasons. When storms occur, this added moisture can fuel heavier precipitation in the form of more intense rain or snow.

Except as I have shown, linking to the actual data on official sites, the air isn’t getting hotter in NH winters, it’s getting colder. Hell, February alone is trending so much colder it brings the entire winter mean down, making a cooling winter trend for the entire globe. That’s climate, not weather, you complete fuckheads.

We now return you to the regular parade of herp derp trolls and idiots.

Why should I do your research for you?

> More nonsense, the questions I asked you are simple and reasonable. Looks to me like you are evading them because I caught you strawmanning and you prefer to change the subject. . . .

No, I am evading because you are a dishonest dipshit, and when, in past, I have attempted to discuss affairs honestly with you, you lied, cheated, misquoted, altered what I said, and conducted yourself without honor. You cannot be reasoned with, and so I am pretty much pissing down your back. You can save everyone a lot of trouble by simply dropping your fraudulent attempt to pose as someone seriously interested in a debate. You’re not, and no one here is deceived.

As for whether or not **FXMastermind** accepts that there has been global temperature change, ask him. Why the fuck should you care what I think about what he thinks? ASK HIM! He’s right here.

(“Hey, **brazil84** , I demand that you tell me what **iiandyiiii** thinks about spinach salad. Why won’t you answer?”)
