That is called a strawman argument. Even pointing this out is a waste of time. Like so many, you mistake your own thoughts for something real, that is on the pages in front of you.

Just quote where that was claimed, and then I will answer you.

But of course you won’t, or can’t. since I never claimed that. It’s one reason why ignorance so often wins. Idiots can ask more questions than a wise man could ever have time to answer.

Perhaps I misunderstand, I am of the opinion that you are aware of the solid consensus that global warming is real. Is this in error?

Oh, and this:

> That’s called science, and it’s honest. Don’t fucking dismiss the coldest fucking winter people have ever lived through, and tell them “Yeah, but the entire world is actually warmer than ever”.

Oh, shit dude, I’m sorry. I’m not used to this science stuff you throw down, but I am trying. Show a trend. Got it. Let me give it a try (here goes nothing):

How’s [this](http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/nmaps.cgi?sat=4&sst=3&type=trends&mean_gen=0103&year1=1950&year2=2015&base1=1951&base2=1980&radius=250&pol=rob)? Was that better?

Oh shit, it doesn’t look right. What the fuck did I do wrong **FX**? I made a trend just like you but it doesn’t have that blue science color. Fuck.

Oh, wait, I see it. I need to pick the year we start the trend line in better. :smack: Right? 1996? Let me try again:

How’s [this](http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/nmaps.cgi?sat=4&sst=3&type=trends&mean_gen=0603&year1=1996&year2=2014&base1=1951&base2=1980&radius=1200&pol=rob)?

Fuck. What did I do wrong this time? I cherry picked the start date of 1996 just like you but it still doesn’t have all that blue science color in it.

Oh, I got the wrong time of year. You are only looking at January through March and I mistakenly looked at the summer months… :smack: This is pissing me off. Let me try one more time, because you are my hero and I want to be able to do science just like you **FX**.

How about [this map](http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/nmaps.cgi?sat=4&sst=3&type=trends&mean_gen=03&year1=1996&year2=2014&base1=1951&base2=1980&radius=1200&pol=rob)?

Gaaaaah. It still does not look like yours! Let’s see: Trends. Check. 1996 Start Date. Check. Spring. Check. WTF? 😕

Oh wait, it looks like I am just looking at March and not January - March like you. I just don’t get it, how come I can change how the science works by cherry picking the data **FX**? Can you explain it? I mean, I keep creating trend maps but unless I enter exactly what you put in I just don’t get that pretty blue color you get…

Fuck, I guess I am just not good at this science stuff like you are FX… ☹

Mind reading is not necessary to make a reasonable conclusion about peoples’ motivations based on their actions. In your case, you have made numerous comments which contain no substantive content and simply criticize and/or ridicule people on the side of the debate of me and **FxMastermind**. Although you claim to have directed such comments at other people, you refuse to identify those people.

So it’s reasonable to infer that your main motivation is, as I said, to root for your teammates.

I’ve already read most of the thread – as best I can recall, you have not criticized or ridiculed anyone on the “pro” side of the discussion. i.e. you are just like a rabid fan at a baseball game, cheering on his team and jeering at players from the other team.

Of course, but that means having an actual discussion, something the alarmists avoids in many ways. If you get to the science, slogans and beliefs don’t count for much.

The essential issues are avoided, in so many ways. And who can blame them? The constant stream of idiocy from the media and experts floods the world with crap. Not just ordinary bullshit, it’s high level bullshit.

It’s right there in plain English. “Cold weather doesn’t discredit global warming”. In fact, “global warming is causing the colder weather”. And they can’t figure out why anyone would doubt them!

Do you actually think anyone, expert or otherwise, would be saying global warming is going to cause colder winters, it we were still seeing the warm winters of a decade ago? If we were still in a period of warm winters with little snow, would anyone be flooding the world with stories about how global warming will make it colder? Of course not. That’s the pricless irony of it all.

To try and sell the story that “colder winters were always predicted” is pure Orwellian newspeak, it’s an odious look into the mindset of the global warmer.

It’s also entertaining as hell.

The last time somebody challenged this idea, that there has been a switch, after the fact, [they used this as a source](http://www.livescience.com/3751-global-warming-chill-planet.html) to claim people have been discussing “warming will make it colder” for a long time.

You have to read the article to appreciate the ironic humor of that.

Let’s do this: If you can point to ONE post in this entire thread (which has been going on for a year and a half now) where you mocked or ridiculed anyone on the opposite side of the debate from me and **FXMastermind** , I will admit that I am wrong about your motivations and apologize.

Just one. Otherwise, you are no different from a rabid baseball fan.

No, common sense demands seeing it that way. I had an exchange with **Trinopous** , you made a comment regarding that exchange, directed it towards **Trinopous** , and intended for me to read it. You jumped into the exchange.

But anyway, I stand by my earlier challenge:

Show me ONE post in this thread from the last 18 months where you mocked or ridiculed anyone on the opposite side of the debate from me or **FXMastermind** and I will apologize.

Thanks, except that sports fans are usually aware that they are partisans and that they are supporting their team because it’s their team.

I basically agree, but I can think of one thing, which is if it becomes fashionable to be on the “anti” side of the debate. In that case, they will change their minds just like a teenage girl starts wearing whatever is in fashion that season.

I don’t seek any admission or apology from you. Why on earth would I? 😕

That said, _of course_ I haven’t mocked anyone on “the opposite side of the debate.” In this thread, given its OP and its content? _Of course_ I’m going to stick to the fish in the barrel. When playing with **FX** and laughing at you are so easy, why would I bother with anyone else? (And are you so confident that you and he share a side?)

Ego demands that you see a public exchange on a public message board as something all your own, and ego demands that you address comments from the peanut gallery instead of treating them like the irrelevancies they are. I posted a single sentence on a public message board. That you persist in characterizing that as “jump[ing] into the exchange” is frankly bizarre.
