I’ve lurked on a lot of threads here in my years, but this is, hands down, the most retarded shit show I have ever seen. FX is basically having a conversation with himself, with a few others chiming in and patting him on the back. When the arctic warms up, that is when the extremes decrease. Like every goddamn summer each year. When the arctic regions are warm the jet stream decreases, moves north, and we don’t see extremes in weather. A warming in the polar region was predicted to cause less extreme weather in winters, with possibly more precipitation, but less as snow. That is what the expert climate science consensus predicted. It’s a key feature of global warming, though from the ignorance people display it seems to not have been very well presented. It was such a bastion of global warming than when there was a severe winter it was dismissed as “natural variation”, or “there will still be the occasional cold winter”, or “people are stupid it’s not really that cold”, this was exactly the response from most global warmers up until around 2006/2007. Even in the extreme winter of 2009/10 a lot of warmers were yammering how it meant nothing. Then, when it became so fucking obvious you couldn’t possibly ignore the winters, nor would the “more snow because it’s warmer” line possibly work anymore, THEN we start seeing the theories about how the warming must be causing the cold. Including the frank admission by a few real climate researchers that “Yes in some places the winters are getting colder”, but always with the view it is because of the warming. Is that too hard to understand? If so, I can explain it using smaller worlds.
