> GIGO, don’t you ever get tired of entertaining these clowns? And I don’t mean this with even a little bit of derision. You always make such thoughtful, well-reasoned contributions to these threads, only to be met with “Derp, derp, it was cold yesterday. Democrats!!!” When I grow up, I want to be as smart and patient as you.

Thank for that, you are not really mean **MeanOldLady**! 🙂

But there is another reason why I do these exercises, as I have pointed many times before I’m not an expert, I post for others and also to learn more.

The main point is that the clowns even deny that most conservative and Republican scientists are telling those clowns how wrong they are.

When the science is so lopsided in favor of something like AGW, logic should tell all that a proper look at the sources and scientific publications should allow people like me to \*\*constantly \*\*find good evidence coming out of their ears and fairly easy to post here, something that would not be case if the science was not there (for almost 100 years already) or controversial as many of those clowns insist it is.

You didn’t address it either, dumbass.

The problem here is that you mean this thread to be funny, but your comedy is worse than mine (which is saying something). There comes a time where you drop the jokes and start telling it as you think it is. You haven’t done that.

Whilst it’s natural to start with air temperatures, a more thorough examination should be as inclusive as possible; snow cover, ice melt, air temperatures over land and sea, even the sea temperatures themselves. A 2010 study included 10 key indicators, and as shown below, every one of them is moving in the direction expected of a warming globe.

Global warming is entirely compatible with these events; after all they are just weather. For climate change, it is the long term trends that are important; measured over decades or more, and those long term trends show that the globe is still, unfortunately, warming.

While this is equivalent to about a decade’s worth of human-caused warming, **it’s also important to bear in mind that any solar cooling would only be temporary, until the end of the solar minimum.**

What part of GLOBAL do you not understand?

Just because in some normally warm places the weather is freakishly different, does not mean that globally the weather is not warming up - it is.

The current problem is not really where most humans live at this moment in time – the problem starts at the North & South Pole, where it’s much warmer than it should be.

The ice is melting at the Poles and cools the sea down, which cools the weather where most humans live – but not the planet.

All this is repairable, but it takes time to do so – sadly no quick fix, since a lot of the damage we currently noticing comes from the crap we pumped into the atmosphere 30-100 years ago…… fixing it is also long-term.

Once again, Scientist Barry Bickmore tell us how dumb is to ignore and misrepresent this issue:

> Barry Bickmore is Associate Professor of Geological Sciences at Brigham Young University. His research specialties are low-temperature geochemistry and geoscience education. In this presentation, he discusses how he moved from being a climate change “skeptic” to being an outspoken advocate of mainstream climate science. He then discusses how it is that people like him can so effectively avoid the truth about climate change. (about 40 minutes)

Yep. Long lecture, but required viewing for all that are indeed skeptics and not the false ones that do not bother to bring evidence and continue being clowns.

No, the cooling is due to the warming. You didn’t hear? Now that the extra heat is going into the deep ocean (making it seem cool) the global warming is actually increasing. And the more it speeds up the faster the world will cool down, until then it warms up, and then you will see how bad it really is.

Don’t be deceived by measurements, the climate models clearly show warming has increased. No matter what the sun does, or any of those natural cycles, man is causing the world to end. It must be stopped.

Well, I guess he is not even an FX person either. 😛

So, back in 2009 this was reported by Meehle 2009:

> **[Record high temperatures versus record lows](https://skepticalscience.com/Record-high-temperatures-versus-record-lows.html)**
>
> Since the mid 1970s, global temperatures have been warming at around 0.2°C per decade. However, weather imposes it's own dramatic ups and downs over the long term trend. So we expect to see record cold temperatures even during global warming....

> [@](#):
>
> To examine this further, the ratio of record highs versus record lows were calculated for each year. Figure 2 shows the yearly ratio as black dots. The solid green line is the smoothed trend. During a period of global cooling in the 1960s, there were more record lows than highs. However, when the global warming period began in the 1970s, the ratio of highs to lows began to increase. Over the last decade, daily record high temperatures occurred twice as often as record lows.
>
> Figure 2: observations of the ratio of record highs to record lows each year (dots), solid line is a smoothed curve fit.
>
> So we see that even during global warming, cold days are expected. However, there’s a much greater chance of daily record highs instead of lows. This tendency towards hotter days is expected to increase as global warming continues into the 21st Century.

So what do we got now? Last year in the USA the warm records reached 90% of the incidents vs 10% for the cold records.

[http://www.climatecentral.org/blogs/more-heat-records-compared-to-cold-records/](http://www.climatecentral.org/blogs/more-heat-records-compared-to-cold-records/)

As usual, on this discussions, that does not mean that we will go higher automatically on 2013, I have seen so many fluctuations in the short range that I do expect the difference to become more moderate this year, but it would be very hard to see the same ratio as it was seen in the 50’s and yes, we are still bound to see a good number of cold records still, but the big picture is telling us that the warming is not going away.

“As the climate has warmed during the past several decades, there has been a growing imbalance between record daily high temperatures in the contiguous U.S. and record daily lows.”

And since the US is the world that means worldwide it is happening. You can’t deny it. And it has nothing to do with cities getting hotter. As goes a large US urban area, so goes the world.

You know in your heart it is true.

Global warming. It’s real, it’s here, and you are to blame for it.
