El Trollo!
Those who claim to know that CO2 can’t cause any changes are as ignorant as those who are sure it will cause catastrophic warming.
The truth is, nobody knows (yet) what the changes mankind has wrought. Obviously the early predictions based on runaway and drastic warming were wrong. But, that does not mean there aren’t changes happening.
We’re all gonna die
We’re gonna hope it’s because of global warming, global warming looks like the easy way out … it’s time to be ALARMED.
Canadians celebrate global warming.
I myself am sick of this shit.
Can you imagine how shitty it would be to wake up and realize you’re Brazil84?
Get some therapy. Seriously. If take any of this shit for reals, you you need professional help.
I I need professional help? You You are the one one with the vanity thread about how he he doesn’t believe in science.
Emphasis mine mine.
That’s better.
I can see somebody in Canada has a sense of humor about the early summer snow.

Unusual Global Warming event last Thursday
Published: Wednesday, September 17th, 2014
Well so much for so-called Global Warming, in this part of the woods anyway. Last year we had 18 inches to three feet of snow, depending where you were in the Hills, from a storm that started Oct. 4, which pretty much put a halt to all activity. Cattle wet from the initial rain perished when temperatures dropped and snow drove them into low spots where they were buried and suffocated. Everyone thought Oct. 4 was a bit early for such a winter event and many were caught off guard.
Last Thursday it started snowing early in the morning and by daylight we had 7-9 inches of snow on the ground, again depending on where you lived in the Custer area. This time we broke a record that has stood since 1888 when records started to be kept, and made national news on such outlets as the Weather Channel and national and cable networks. It’s still summer, for crying out loud! If this is any indication of what our winter will be like, we’re in for another long one.
The National Weather Service in Rapid City said there were reports of seven inches of snow north of Custer early last Thursday. We can attest to that as we had more than that at our house south of Custer that same time. Tree branches were really sagging under the heavy, wet snow load. Thankfully there wasn’t any ice to freeze on the power lines and the wind was not blowing. Blacktop and concrete surfaces still retained some heat, so the snow that did fall melted when it hit the ground.
We don’t know about you, but we are getting a little tired of all the so-called global warming scare tactics.
Keep fighting the dumb fight.
Weather is climate! Wake up sheeple!
In that case, here’s another banana:
As I keep asking the gentleman, “Do you understand the concept of ‘average?’”
Southern California just had a big rainstorm (moist air moving up from the hurricane off Baja California.) So I guess the drought is over…
Cali didn’t get that much rain (source) but certainly the drought in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and other areas that received heavy rain are out of the woods.
This has happened many times before. Tropical moisture and cyclones relieve the dry conditions. Fill the reservoirs, it’s nothing new or unusual.
And it’s often exactly how a drought ends in that area.
Maybe this “the science is settled” isn’t so settled.
For your reading pleasure, an article from Steven Koonin, PhD. He is the Director of Center for Urban Science and Progress, and served as the Under Sectretary of Energy for Science under President Obama.
Meh. From the article:
I think the majority of climate scientists would agree with the third paragraph. Unfortunately, most of the denialists like FX are stuck on paragraph number 2.
Do you even read the articles you post? This article is a fallback position to the fallback positons:
[Desperate Denier] Okay the climate is heating up.
And, okay, human activity is driving it.
But since we don’t have a perfect understanding of how it will impact everything, we should do nothing and wait until the science is perfect before we act.[/Desperate Denier]
Note that the PhD you reference is in physics, not climate science and the center he directs is for degrees in applied science and engineering, not climate. His opinion caries no more weight than any other scientist speaking outside his specialty.
It’s not even that good. For the last 20 years or more he’s been an administrator.
And when you read his opinion, it’s that of an administrator, i.e. "not enough information to support ‘good’ policy. There never is.
He’s just muddying the water. Which should be unsurprising given where the opinion piece was published. He knows where is bread is buttered.
Pretty much what they said. It’s basically a load of FUD from someone who is not an expert in the field. We’re facing a major shift in climate, caused by humans, but we can’t make rational policy decisions to try to curb that because nature is complex? Since when did conservatives stop being worried about the complications of things? I’d snark about them hyping up every possible tiniest consequence of Obamacare, regardless of how weak the evidence was, but that’s not a fair comparison, because we know a fuck-ton more about climate change and its consequences. The actual climatologists are the ones who are worried. This guy is just a moron. Even if the evidence wasn’t as good as it is now that our CO2 emissions are causing warming and this warming will have significant consequences for the world (stronger hurricanes, more drought, and just generally a change in the conditions our civilization relies on to function), we would still want to say, “We should be careful going forward and do something about this before it bites us in the ass”. You know, basic precaution. But we do have a pretty solid grasp on it. You can say “there’s not enough evidence” basically until the cows come home. Welcome to science denialism 101.
