Warmer is a relative term. -18C is warmer than -23C, but it sure the fuck isn’t going to rain on that warmer day, and, other things being equal, is more likely to snow than on the colder. So in that case warmer could well result in more snow. That’s how it works.

Assuming you are serious, why not provide a source for your statement, let us know where you got that from. If you just made it up, then tell us that. Like the issue of “warmer means more snow”, which is exactly the same as claiming “the colder the winter, the less snow”, which is just as idiotic. You might as well claim “the drier it is, the more rain”, or “the more water vapor in the air, the hotter it gets”, both of which are idiot beliefs, by people who know pretty much nothing about meteorology. Much less climate.
Here’s an example, not for the know-it-all fuckheads of course, they would never actually lift a finger to learn anything, but for the reader who enjoys learning, and explores the world. And this one is enjoyable on many levels.
Usually it can’t be observed, but it probably happens all the time, and sometimes we can observe it. Snow, caused directly by human beings, in this case a nuclear power plant. Here’s the weather for the event, note the cold temperatures. And the lack of observed snow for the 23rd. Certainly the same thing happened but as they state, it can’t easily be observed when it’s really snowing.
Looking at the monthly data for that station, we can see it snowed or rained almost every day that month. Looking at the calender view shows why it has to be cold to snow, and why when it snows, it’s usually warmer when there is more snow.
What? yes, usually when it snows a lot, when the clouds are heavy, when there is a lot of moisture and clouds, it warms up. The idiot view would be that it snows more because it’s warmer. This is like thinking it rains more because while it rains it gets cooler. If you actually study that one month, and it’s a good one for snow and rain events, you can see what actually happens, and it shows why it rains when it’s warmer, and snows when it’s cold. And the amounts have jack shit to do with the temperature. The snow is listed by water amounts, so you can directly compare the rain amounts with the snow. When it was cold enough to snow, it snowed. When it wasn’t cold enough, it was rain.
This is how it works. The cooling tower snow only happens when it’s cold. Not when it’s warm. Because physics.
When somebody tries to tell you there is more snow because it’s warmer, now you know why they are full of shit.
From Jan 1-7 it was cold, and it was snow. Then when it warmed up, from Jan 9-14 it was rain. Then it became cold, and it was snow from Jan 21-28, then it warmed up and was rain for three days, then it got cold and was snow again, which if you keep looking into Feb, you can see the exact same thing happens. It’s not perfect, because those are surface readings, and the atmosphere higher up matters, but in general, you can actually see that snow is directly associated with cold, and when it warms up, even a little at times, it turns to rain.
Because both rain and snow, along with the clouds, actually effects the surface temperatures, it’s complicated. But there is no doubt at all, that warmer means less snow. And when there is moisture and clouds, cold means more snow, warm means less snow.
If anyone is trying to tell you otherwise, there is something seriously wrong going on there.

Yeah, but here’s the thing, for me that is. The internet is often a source of idiots, or the delusional, trolls, mean people, all kinds of rampant negativity. If we respond in kind, or respond at all, it feeds the ugly and the insane. It’s why I type out a bunch of shit about nuclear snow and spend an hour looking at weather records, finding a good example of what I want to discuss, rather than letting the fuckheads decide what is discussed.
I mean, it nuclear snow. Actual evidence of a cooling tower (and there was a coal fired plant involved as well) causing a goddamn inch of snow. Isn’t that just fucking awesome?
And it probably goes on all the time, being downwind from a cooling tower might mean you get even more fucking snow. And you know what? I brought the nuclear snow up for another reason as well. Cooling towers, as well as fossil fuel combustion in general, adds a shit ton of water vapor to the air. You just don’t usually see it on radar.
All that extra water vapor, from irrigation, combustion, cooling towers and even lawns and golf courses being watered regularly, it adds water vapor to the system. And in no small amounts. If water vapor acted only as a positive feedback, as some would claim, it alone would make areas warmer, just from the massive changes in moisture we can cause. Like icebreakers keeping the shipping lanes open in the Great Lakes. What does that do in regards to lake effect snow? Rather than a solid frozen lake, there are open areas the wind can get to, and lake effect snow can happen, that would not happen with out the icebreakers constantly keeping lanes open.
It’s an actual thing.
So why waste time with fuckheads at all? It’s a big world out there, I like to enjoy it, not waste my time with some shit for brains troll.
