“Nevertheless, the atmosphere is a powerful obstacle during ascent for space travel. It virtually forms an armored shield surrounding the Earth on all sides.”
The Problem of Space Travel: The Rocket Motor
Yeah, see, this is why I don’t enjoy trying to have a conversation with you.
I usually resist this sort of bait, from a troll. But sometimes …
You are a liar, and your own posts show this. Here is your first two “contributions in this thread.”
See? You were a known troll since you started, so don’t get all sentimental about how semantics are messing up your enjoyment of a scientific discussion about global warming.
Because you are just an idiot troll, and always will come across that way.
Hey - did you hear that July was the hottest month ever? Did you hear that 2015 will be the hottesr year ever?
Yes! It’s amazing how NOAA knows this in advance. Their science is truly awesome.
The only problem they face is that both the satellite data, and the surface temperature data shows them to be full of shit.
Liar. This entire thread is evidence that you cannot resist it.
Quis trolliet ipsos trolles?
If you’ll check the data, July of 250,000,000 BC is the hottest on record … give or take ten or twenty million years. Looks like 2015 will be one of the very coldest years since the Cambrian.
Shirt story on this latest “warmest year ever”, or “warmest month ever”, or Jan-July warmest ever", it’s simply not true, and it’s deceptive as well, in how they present it.
North America is not only nowhere near the warmest year, month or year-to-date ever, the last two ytd periods/years have been very cold compared to the long term average.
amd they sure as hell don’t want you looking at this data
They will focus on the July trend, (+1.70C a century) but say the February one (-1.54C a century) is meaningless. It’s called cherry picking, and when alarmists do it, it’s OK
Why do you quote a reference that is against the point you were trying to make?
Because using a 1928 book as a source for the claim that the atmosphere is a physical barrier is hilarious?
Not just a physical barrier, an armored barrier. Like that ozone layer of .01 ppm ozone in a rarefied atmosphere, it’s a physical barrier like no other.
Aw come on man, that shit is hilarious.
It would actually be educational to explain how and why the ozone payer protects us from the sun, helps keep the planet warm, and why mankind is doing a lot of damage to it, and what climate changes that causes.
Apparently you don’t realize how not funny you are. I think that probably explains a large part of the problem with this thread. Your “jokes” are never funny, or even jokes per se, and you tend to fall back on “humor” as an excuse when the bullshit gets too thick, or incomprehensible.
I’m sure you don’t understand. It’s funny to me. I doubt it’s funny to the target of the joke.
This famous comedian will help explain
Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die
… see?
…
Yes, that would be educational. Why are you spending your time trolling instead?
You might be confused. This is not the only forum online, and the Pit is certainly not a forum for extended scientific discussions of atmospheric chemistry.
But if just one single person actually was interested, it would be so.
Oh, I understand humor just fine, thank you very much. You’re not funny.
Oh, I get it now, you’re stuck in the '80s.
Well, don’t worry, outside of Texas, people stop using Aquinette in the future and ozone layer gets better. Millions of Kiwis rejoice!
This is a joke?
This is what got the beer coming out my nose, too funny.
It’s Greek, not Latin … get it? hahahaha … “It’s Greek to me”
No, and I linked to the book online. In 1928 nobody even knew about the ozone layer, or the high energy UV it blocks.
Wrong:
Brief summary–by 1879 it was realized that UV was being blocked by something in the atmosphere, and it was quickly theorized to be ozone. By 1920 there was spectrographic evidence of the ozone layer and there are many pages describing the materials and methods used.
