With the first blizzard of this winter already going on in the US, it looks like another brutal global warming has started. Siberia just set a new record low, with record snow.
Antarctic sea ice is at yet another record high. Alaska had the sorter summer on record (the continuous summer thaw season was the shortest ever).
Global warming is proceeding, just like they said it would.
Even when there is simply no way out of being wrong, the alarmists mentality can always find a way to “feel” like they are right. Like the sea level rise problem. When you point out that sea level has been rising at the current rate for 150 years (or more), and that it has both fallen, and rose, in the recent past, you get the mumbo jumbo gigogallop.
See? Pointing out reality is to the warmist, a “strawman”, because “the costs of all those efforts” isn’t added. (What the fuck does that even mean?)

No, that is not " the theory", nor is there any evidence at present that the warming since the LIA has been due to an increase in CO2. The “theory” is that “the warming since the LIA has been due to an increase in CO2”, which is based on CO2 being “the control knob for climate”. That is “the theory”, which insists the sun has almost nothing to do with the climate, and rejects the increase in solar activity as being enough to change the climate. And “the theory” also says a quiet sun did not cause the LIA, or any of the other past climate events. In the words of those who promote the AGW theory, the sun is not even a player in climate change.
No, that is denier talk, even suggesting that the sun will change the climate. If you buy that, you have to also believe the sun could have caused the warming we have seen. It’s heresy.

That does seem to be a problem with GarbageSpewer. It appears he doesn’t actually read or understand the points he pretends to respond to. Instead, it seems he just scans for key words or images and finds the closest argument he can on warmist web sites, often just cutting and pasting.
He has little or no comprehension of the arguments he is making or the arguments he is responding to. Probably if you sat him down away from a computer and gave him a paper and pencil test about global warming (limited to non-controversial claims), he would fail miserably.
That’s what I noticed. After I started posting science based stuff that SS doesn’t cover, he stopped responding. Thinking is hard.

I think you seriously misunderstand what climate scientists are saying about solar climate forcings (i.e., effects of solar activity on climate change). As this 2010 paper remarks,

No, that is NOT the official story at all. Global warming has not stopped, or even slowed. In fact, it has increased. It’s just that now all the heat is going into the deep ocean, so much so that the temperature records actually show it’s cooling, but it’s not, it’s warming.
If this keeps up, the oceans taking all our heat, soon we will experience record cold, even as the world experiences global warming like nobody has ever seen before. The record early cold and snow already happening (again) right now is a sure sign of how bad global warming has become. If the NH winter trend continues, which is now blamed on global warming, the world could be buried by epic snow and ice, with deadly freezing temperatures, as global warming continues it’s deadly advance.
God damn it, this global warming really sucks.

That’s not a joke. It’s serious. The trend of colder winters, with more snow, longer cold periods, even earlier frosts and snow, it’s being blamed on global warming.
This line or reasoning actually started in 2010, after record breaking cold and blizzards made it really hard to say the globe was warming.
So the warming arctic is causing the fall and winter to be colder in the NH. (the same thing is also happening in the SH, but that is another matter)
Sure this may sound like a desperate tactic to somehow save face, since at the same time we are told the planet is hotter than ever, the winters are getting worse.
Obviously at some point, the people telling us global warming is going to make winters warmer, snow less frequent, and the frost line further north, obviously at some point they have to face the music.
That’s sort of a bullshit answer, but it does show how the story is changing.
The thing is, if you look at the long term trends, the last two decades (since 1992) show this trend for large parts of the NH to be having colder winters. And the winter snow amounts have been going up.
At the same time the spring and summer temperatures are rising, and the snow levels pretty much dropped off the charts.
So, assuming it actually is global warming causing this (and that story hasn’t changed), the brutal cold winters, and record snow amounts, are actually global warming. And I fucking hate cold. It makes me sick.
Because most people actually don’t know what is really happening (like the winter temperature trends for the last twenty years), they think bitching about the cold, and blaming it on global warming, seems insane.
If you think about it, since the summers and spring temperatures are still going up most places, but the yearly average is not, how can that be happening?
It’s due to the fall and winter temperatures falling. If you average it all out it seems almost flat, or falling slightly. But if you look at the seasons, you can see what is actually happening with the NH temperatures. Hotter spring and summers are being balanced with colder fall and winters, making it seem like globally there isn’t much warming at all.
(only in some areas, this does NOT mean the entire NH)
It’s ironic, especially since for decades they predicted warmer winters with less snow. OK not everyone, a few mavericks actually predicted this back in the eighties, but the consensus made sure that never appeared in the press.
With the right amount of propaganda, in a few years most people will actually believe the colder winters were predicted all along. In any case, nobody will ever admit to being wrong.
