I'm sitting with acid on my face...

Uncoated just means it’s easier to dissolve, it’s not like the coating is taking away the property that causes it to work as an exfoliant. I have uncoated and it dissolves in 1 T of water in about 5 seconds.

If all you can find is coated, then bust out the mortar and pestle and start thumping. Once it’s broken into pieces, add the water and wait for it to dissolve.

Uncoated aspirin might be found at Dollarama (is that what it’s still called?), the very very cheap $1 stores. That’s where I found it (I’m in the US, though) and where several of the people on the thread found it.

But, I’d encourage you to join MUA because the women on there are always willing to help out and mail stuff like that to you. There are plenty of Canadians and international participants registered there.

Untrue, we get it on PBS sometimes. When we’re really, really lucky.

I’d like to send more thanks to anu-la1979. I did the aspirin mask last night and it was awesome!

I have age spots / huge freckles on my chest. What can I use to get rid of them? I am scared I’ll look like Michael Jackson if I use a bleaching cream.

Well, it sort of depends how long you’ve had them, your complexion, etc.

If you’re naturally freckly (like a redhead) then you’re probably stuck with them. However, if your skin is even except for the large spots, certain types of chemical peels can help, although generally they are deeper (more powerful) than the one’s you can do at home. I would make an appointmen with a dermatologist if it really bugs you.

It depends - are you planning on cutting off your nose, too?

It doesn’t bleach your skin like bleach bleaches cloth.

Sure it does. Hydraquinone will bleach out the skin, and if you have a freckle and aren’t particular about applying it, you’ll wind up with a lighter freckle with a lighter still patch around it.
