I’m always amazed that more towns don’t have the same system as crappy little Erie, PA - emergency vehicles have some device that changes all the lights in their intended route green, and they never get stuck in unmoving traffic caused by a red light. They had this way the hell back in the early 70s, and adjusting to the larger towns I’ve since lived in that don’t have this system is really annoying. It’s so simple! ---

I sympathize with all emergency services drivers, and will do my best to get out of their way, but in a crowded city on crowded streets in rush hour, with a police force that doesn’t enforce shit, there’s only so much us civilians can do, you know? After watching the reality show “Canada’s Worst Driver,” I now understand why drivers don’t get out of the way - honest to god, they don’t know any better. They asked the drivers simple road-test questions on this show, like who goes first at a four-way stop, and the bad drivers had absolutely no clue. I suspect there are a whoooooole lot of people out there with legal driver’s licenses who have absolutely no business driving a car. ---

Well, I know the reason we don’t have that nifty device to change the lights to green is because there are a total of sven stop lgihts in our town. That, and we don’t really have what you could call traffic. ---

At least in Las Vegas there is a law forbiding an intoxicated pedestrian from being in the roadway, accoding to an officer I was speaking to when pulling a drunk man out of traffic. ---
