# I'm sorry

Yesterday and Today, I allowed emotions to take over. I know that you all now think that I’m prejudice against gays. Well, that just isn’t the case. I have my opinions and beliefs, but I don’t see myself any more superior than a gay person is. I wasn’t trying to bash gays. I’m not one of those that wouldn’t hire someone because they are gay, or beat a person up because they are gay. Gays are people. I know that. The only people that I have any real problems are dumb drivers and those out there to kill us.
Anyway, I just wanted to apologize for my emotional responses to that thread on the gay school in NY. I have ADD, as well as other problems, and I always feel that people don’t understand me. I’ve been rediculed and poked fun at. Of course, I don’t know what it’s like to be gay, but I can relate to being “different” from what people consider to be normal. I’m not a troll, and I usually don’t intentionally start fights. I do have a history of going off like this, and then apologizing. I guess I have to learn to watch what I say from now on. I’m sorry for any name calling I did, and I’m especially sorry if I made any gay people on this forum feel like a second class citizen. I definitely do not think of a gay person being a second class citizen. ☹

Well, I must say, some of the things you said in that thread did lead me to believe you are open to others’ opinions and were only stating your own. Then, as you said, Mr. Uh-Oh made an appearance and tied your shoelaces together.
I think you’ll find Dopers are a very forgiving and open-minded bunch, as a lot. Why not just eschew gay and religious threads for awhile, and chat about movies, food, kitty-cats and such, and let people get to know a more well-rounded **kputt**?

It takes a big man to apologize, **kputt**. Or a big woman, if I’m wrong in assuming that you’re a guy. Either way, good show. You should do fine here if you are successful in your attempts to show a little more restraint. **Eve** ’s advice to maybe avoiding threads that are likely to set you off is sound as well.

I am wrong for thinking that though. I’m sorry for saying some of my beliefs which I’m changing. People have changed my mind. I’m not going to judge.
The reason I’m changing my mind is because of people telling me they don’t understand why I eat like I do, or why drugs help my adhd and depression out. It bugs me and bugs me a lot when people say, doctors just fill your head up with that stuff so they can pump you up with drugs. They don’t understand all the complicated brain things that cause these problems. So, I know now where gay people are coming from. I was wrong and I’m sorry.

I’d think about writing your posts, not hitting “submit”, and rereading them 10 minutes later to make sure you don’t come off badly, just to make sure. When I get into a posting frenzy, I end up regretting it.
