Oh, I’m definitely a racist, but only if you define “racist” as “someone who does not automatically dismiss race/IQ studies.” I’m not a racist if the term is defined more properly, something like: “a person who believes that people of a different race are inherently and irredeemably inferior than themselves, or have lower intrinsic worth as human beings, or are less worthy of respect.” I started a GD thread about the definition of “racist” and it didn’t get very far–it’s more fun to call people racists than it is to discuss what the term means. ---

Not that I’m in favor of Nazism or political violence, but for sheer brass I have to admire Ernst Pöhner, Munich’s Chief of Police during the turbulent early '20s, who when asked if right-wing death squads were operating in his district replied “Yes, but not enough of them”. ---
