Wah. When I was 16 I lost my virginity. The girl dumped me the next day, and I went for 2.5 years without even seeing a chick again. I liked one, but she moved away after I said I liked her. I’m seeing a pattern. How about this… I know that the UK Dopers get together periodically… next Dopefest, try to go. If nothing else, it’s a good chance to network, and maybe another doper knows a chick. Don’t give up hope. ---

Unless Ryan\_Liam is abnormally bright and has been a year ahead of his age-group throughout his schooling, I think he’s at 6th form college or a further education college rather than at university. Almost everyone starts university at 18 here in the UK. I think **Francesca** ’s advice about getting a LiveJournal is spot on, by the way. ---

If you are saying that “no girl has even looked at me for ages”, then it is probably because they find you annoying, which then leads me to believe one of two things: 1.) Folks think you are annoying in really life. (Justly or unjustly) or 2.) You are here pulling everyones leg for attention. To me, regardless of where you whine, it obviously reflects your personality. If it didn’t, you would be here whining. Ever stop and thing that the reason you ‘can’t get chicks’ is because some folks IRL might find you annoying? Figure out why that is and you’re problem will be solved. ---

If you are 17 then you should be worrying about far more important things than losing your virginity (like studying for example). I didn’t lose mine until I was 19, and then only because I happened to meet someone and it just happened kind of by chance. You really need to relax about the whole thing, trust me you there are plenty of years ahead of you to meet girls and have fun. I think this sentiment has been echoed elsewhere in this thread, but: If you go out looking for it you probably won’t get it. If you relax and forget about it then it will just happen one day when you least expect it. If you feel you need to lose your virginity because of peer pressure then maybe hangout with some different friends. ---
