I’d complained about the lack of training at my job, but I still managed to complete every project I was assigned. Still, they let me go this afternoon for ‘poor performance’. Saves me the trouble of writing the resignation letter I’ve been composing in my head! 😃 See, last Friday I was offered a position in Washington. (You may have noticed the ‘Seattle transportation’ thread a couple of weeks ago.) I accepted by email Friday, received the hardcopy on Monday, and mailed it on Tuesday. I requested next week off so that I could move some stuff up to the house, and at the same time use my ‘use-or-lose’ personal days. I was going to give my notice when I got back. Now I get cash for my personal days (and my vacation, of course) _and_ I’m eligible for unemployment. I’m supposed to start the new job on the first Monday in April. ---

Thanks, everyone. It sucks that I begged for training and didn’t get it (I was supposed to be assigned a mentor, but didn’t get one for four months – and then I didn’t have all the access I wanted), and I did do everything they assigned to me. But I almost walked out the door in September, and almost resigned in November. I’ve been wanting to get back to Washington for a long time. So the timing is good. ---
