Mr VOW and I got flu and COVID shots about a week and a half ago. The flu shot was given with a dull, corkscrew, probably rust needle. The COVID was given with an 8nvisible nedle. Honestly, the flu shot burned like a sonofabitch, and I didn’t feel the COVID shot at all. I felt really cruddy for days. I figured the fact I’m 72 years old had a lot to do with my reaction. And either shot was preferable to full-blown flu or COVID. We are absolutely pro-vax. ~VOW ---

I get bloodwork quarterly prescribed by my PCP then drawn & processed by LabCorp. Which is either #1 or #2 across the country in total volume, number of outlets, etc. A reputable testing source in other words; not some holistic clinic in the back of a convenience market in Akron. They send out a regular stream of emails soliciting for regular customers like me to order my own tests for [whatever] “just in case”. They too have figured out that there’s gold in the so-called “worried well”. They’re happy to sell me any test they know how to do. And since all that work is cash up front from the patient, they have no worries about slow or denied Insurance payouts. ---

At least here in Australia, we older folks get some stronger vaccinations due to having weaker immune systems. Being older, of course I’ve forgotten which ones are involved! ---
