I have rarely posted here before, but right now I’m so happy I must share. I was diagnosed with an eating disorder in January this year. After freaking out, I sought help. I found a “workshop” or group therapy, one weekend a month, intensive 16 hour therapy!! I used to hate groups, people sharing their emotions, crying, I never got it. What a bunch of cry babies, weak weak human beings!!! Well low and behold, I’m one of them now, AND I’M NOT A CRY BABY AND I’M NOT WEAK, go figure!! As much as therapy is hard, and more often than not I’m in turmoil, I have less and less binges. I’m learning to deal with the emotions, emotions I never knew I had. I feel a whole new world opening up to me. And the best thing, I started loosing weight… this time without even trying. I am very very excited about getting closer and closer to a “cure” and actually becoming a functioning human being. Thanks, just had to share 🙂 ---

I’m really happy for you. I had an eating disorder when I was young and this was before so much was known about eating disorders or they were really talked about. Unfortunately for me I was able to hide this from my family, friends and even my doctor until I was hospitalized for about the third time. I suffered for many years and damaged my health because of undiagnosed eating disorders. I’m glad you were able to admit to yourself and everyone else that you have a problem and are seeking help. ---
