How about “Honey, I Shrunk Marmaduke”, the adventures of a suburban family with a normal sized dog, who, because of his new found normalcy, isn’t very interesting and doesn’t really play into the plot at all. Sort of like an “Ordinary People”, and they have a dog. ---

[/QUOTE] I actually entered this thread to talk about this very thing, except it was going to be more like Children of the Corn, complete with a power struggle between Billy and Jeffy. They will occasionally see the spirit of granny who will convince them to purge the world of the unwashed, heathen masses. The children will make the streets flow red with the blood of the non-believers and in their wake is death, decay, and black dotted lines. Alternately, FoxTrot done as a Requiem for a Dream style foray into the serious nature of addiction. (By the by, this is my very first posting anywhere on the Dope, spent too much time lurking in the shadows, felt the need to contribute something, no matter how trite) ---

How about a ‘Cathy’ movie in which the titular character becomes an ass-kickboxing, vampire-fighting ‘Buffy’ style superheroine all while making light-weight observations about being a modern day woman? ---

There’s a newer comic about old coots at a retirement home called The Elderberries [Today on The Elderberries - Comics by Corey Pandolph and Phil Frank and Joe Troise - GoComics](http://www.gocomics.com/theelderberries/) This could be mis-realized on the big screen with a Shakespearian tragedy treatment, where all the petty grievances turn into blood feuds and every eavesdropping nurse is stabbed behind the arras. ---
