This is a shock. ☹ **TPR** , **mudgirl** ,\*\* thebadman\*\* and Ray, you have my most heartfelt sympathy. I don’t think that I have to tell you that **norinew** was a pretty special Doper. Over the years since I first began lurking here and once I started posting, she’s been someone that I always would have liked to live next door to. Since then, she managed to make me laugh on bad days, swapped wound vac stories with me and made me hungry in the _What’s for dinner_ thread. Today, I’ve truly lost a friend. Rest in Peace, **norinew**. \<3 ---

Shock and sadness. I’m so sorry for your loss, and I just wanted to add that I also considered her one of the good ones, intelligent, funny, unpretentious, always ready with a kind word of support. She’ll be missed by us all, and I can’t even begin to fathom how devastating this must be you, her family and loved ones. Condolences. ---

Just shocked, absolutely floored, to hear this terrible news. I’d met Norine at a number of Dopefests, and I remember being elated to hear about [the great house she and Ray were buying](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=606404). She was so excited. Sheesh - that thread was just a month ago. At the rate real estate transactions happen, they surely hadn’t closed on the place yet, let alone moved in. Sometimes life is just no fucking fair. ☹ ---
