Now do I place soap (pump pack) and hand towel in the laundry next to the tub? Or do I place these items in the bathroom. Further clarification – the laundry has no nice place to hang a towel so if I put the towel in there is it okay to hang it over the edge of the tub? Or should I place the towel on top of my washing machine.

leechbabe\*\*, that’s one weird house!

I’d recommend leaving soap and towels in the laundry room, rather than having guests walk through your house with dirty hands to clean up in the bathroom at the other end. You can either leave a stack of clean hand towels on the laundry machine, with a receptacle (e.g. a laundry basket) nearby to dump the used ones, or hang a row of them on the side of the tub.

It all depends, I’d say. If it’s something that people are dressing up for, then I’d say machines off, and dirty laundry at least neatly set aside in baskets or some such. Otherwise, do whatever you are comfortable with.

I’d suggest getting one of those litter boxes that have clip-on lids with an opening for the cat to go inside; they’re pretty inexpensive. If you scoop the litterbox and sweep up the loose cat litter in the laundry room before company comes, then pop the cover back on, that should suffice. The cats can still get to the litterbox if they need to, but the grubby stuff is shielded from your guests’ eyes, and they probably won’t step on little granules of cat litter.

Seeing as you have such a dilemma about washing machines and cats, and providing your house isn’t tem miles long, why can your guests not use your bathroom?

Definately have the old plumbers helper on standby in the bathroom so that if a guest downloads and clogs they can practice a little self-help.

Thanks **RTFirefly**. I shall invest in one of those covered litter trays asap - hadn’t even occured to me.

**curly chick** its not a huge house but there are several door/doorways to get through and people may have issues about dirty hands and touching stuff - or - EVEN WORSE they may find it all to hard to wash their hands and not bother.

_if you sprinkle when you tinkle,
please be neat and wipe the seat!_

no, wait, my _guests_ don’t have that problem…
