Impurities in the electrical supply!

OTOH, don’t don’t just keep things plugged in without using them. If you don’t run some sort of electrical appliance in each room of the house for at least an hour each day, the electricity backs up in the wires and coagulates, and won’t flow properly when you need it.

Pfft. Natural impurities are the least of our worries. It’s been established for years that power lines can transmit data, exactly like the data cables connecting computers to networks. This fact, little known to the public, made its way onto an episode of the popular American television program 24. The writer who slipped this past the censors has not been heard from in weeks. It is my understanding that 110 lines have a fairly low data rate, while 220 are broadband. In any case, the government is testing a method of using your power transmission system to hack into the computers in such innocent-seeming appliances as the household toaster. By skillfully manipulating the data stream to your toaster, the burn pattern on your pastries – even little children’s Pop Tarts! – can be used to encode directions for the UN armies, when the invasion comes. The only solution is to get off the grid entirely.

That explains the virgin Mary on my toast this morning. Probably a computer virus.

head explodes

We just had a sales person over last night to try to sell us an electricity purification and softener device. We have well power, and he told us that an electricity softener would give us better light from our fixtures. There’s much less glare with softened electricity.
While he was there, as a bonus we got a free lubricating of our flux capacitor.

Ha! You see a grainy image of a woman with a shawl over her hair and think “Virgin Mary”, while I know the truth: it was an image of Benazir Bhutto, who had been slated to run the One-World government. The spooks just haven’t updated the signaling software yet. Sometimes they get busy.

I wish to emphatically state that , you cannot trust China made electricity and I do foresee a massive recall of the same in near future. :stuck_out_tongue:
With made in India elecricity you can be 100 % sure , on quality…

While we’re on the subject of computer viruses, I’d just like to remind everyone to keep up with the vitamins. If you can’t find computer vitamins in disk form, just tilt the computer and pour lemon juice in through one of the USB slots, using a spoon.

That RGB business bears mentioning. Most houses get only one phase from the 3-phase supply - the other two phases go to the adjoining houses. It’s worth paying extra for the full 3-phase supply, as otherwise your TV has to compensate for only getting one colour of electrons (colour comes from electron energy levels, f’Pete’s sake!) leading to muddy colours and premature burn-out.

Sez you. I got a bulk load one time and it browned out all the time.

You played along too hard, didn’t you?

You probably left it somewhere too warm. Bulk electricity naturally forms a brownish crust if exposed to warm conditions. You can just scrape off the top layer and continue using the rest.

I don’t know why someone doesn’t regulate the power we import from China better. I heard from a friend of a friend that there’s lead in their power!

I also think it’s ridiculous that we have to buy bottled electricity to make sure there are no contaminants in what God obviously meant for us to have free. I mean, there’s electricity around everywhere. And yet we’re paying for it!

The lead is what you need to connect it to the wall (if you have electric walls). Some people call it a cable.

If you’re worried about the purity of incoming electricity, you could power your TV with a AAA battery.

And if that works, you could power the rest of your house, but you might need a whole shitload of AAA’s. Maybe you better invest a couple of big D’s at least.

Musicat - I’ve got a couple of big D’s but I haven’t been able to power my house with them. I have a hard enough time trying to find a comfortable bra!

Well, there’s the problem. You haven’t told us whether you’re using AC or DC. Most batteries provide DC when left at rest, but if you shake them back and forth, they provide AC. Most appliances require AC or DC, but can’t use both, and you have to give them the proper one. Are you shaking your D’s?

And if you are shaking your D’s, we need a video so we can check the frequency. Shaking D’s at the wrong frequency leads to all sorts of problems!

You guys worry about natural impurities but what of the unnatural impurities coming in to your home every day?

For example, say your nasty dirty neighbor watches some nasty dirty pornography on their television. That dirtied up electricity comes IN to their home and then where does it go? Back OUT into the electrical supply and possibly in to YOUR home!

Think of the children! All of these dirty bits of electricity pulsing through your walls. Disgusting! This is why you do NOT want pornography stores coming to your town!

People laugh at the Amish, and the hippies that make their own electricity. But you don’t see them getting all corrupt by the dirtiness of their neighbors, do you?

ZipperJJ, that’s why we put filters on our outlets. Have you ever noticed that the more complex and delicate the electrical item, the likelier it is to have one of those ‘wall warts’, those heavy lumpy things in the power cord?

Many large appliances are robust enough that they can run on dirty electricity without problam. Fridges, for example, run all day with no more effects than a slight off-taste in the food inside. And all you need is an open box of baking soda to correct that.

But delicate items like computers and cellphones and TV’s need wall warts to clean up the electricity entering them. The wall warts become warm while in use: that’s the effect of their hard work in cleaning up the incoming electricity and neutralising the dirt. Wall warts do fill up after time, though. Older models can be cleaned out, but many newer ones have to be replaced.

Peace on Earth - Purity of Electricity.

That’s why I only use pure solar electricity, or rechargeable batteries.

I don’t avoid appliances, Mandrake, I just deny them my electrons.

Und ve must avoid a generator gap!
